Do you ever just sit and ponder the power we as Believers have access to? We have our Heavenly Father available to us 24/7!!! Isn’t that such an amazing gift? The All-Knowing, Most Compassionate, All-Powerful Creator of the universe and everything it contains loves us, and wants to hear from us and answer our prayers!!! It’s almost unfathomable…
Do you realize that there are certain things we come across in scripture that Jesus told His people to pray for? Do you ever stop and pray when He gives these instructions? It’s a habit I’m trying to develop.
In one particular instance, Jesus tells His followers, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Mt 9:37-38)
As a follower of Christ we can obey Him and help the Great Commission to be fulfilled by faithfully praying. Our mentor, Pastor Chris, likes to have our ministry members pray for RALF. Who’s RALF, you ask? Well…
R is for Revival in the church- Pray that the Church rallies and experiences a renewal of obedience to the Great Commission and each member’s role as an Ambassador for Christ (2Cor 5:17-21). Pray for a resurgence of the gospel going forth in people’s everyday lives; that each child of God would be active in sharing our faith…
A is for Awakening in the culture- Pray that people all over the world will become aware of the reality of God, Jesus Christ, heaven and hell, right and wrong, as if they were waking from sleep… Pray that for our families, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and all whom we meet…
L is for Laborers in the harvest- Pray that God Himself will send out Christians to work to reach people with the gospel as in the verse above… Pray that you yourself will be a faithful gospel laborer and that He’ll help you overcome fear, laziness, distractions, and apathy!
F is for Fruitful Evangelism – Pray that God would make our gospel “seeds” grow and bring forth eternal life for many! Pray that He would use us in saving some!
