Statement of Faith

We accept the Scriptures as our only authority in matters of faith and practice. Our interpretation of Bible Doctrine leads us to believe:

  • The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, inerrant and infallible in the original writings, and of supreme and final authority. (Num. 23:19, Prov. 30:5, 2 Tim. 3:16-17)

  • In one God eternally existing in one essence, yet co-equal persons, the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4, Matt. 28:19, Acts 5:3-4, Col. 2:9)

  • That Jesus Christ was begotten by God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born to the virgin Mary. (Matt. 1:20-23, Luke 1:31-35)

  • In the Holy Spirit, Who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and empowers the preaching and teaching of the Gospel. (John 14:26, John 16:8-11, 1 Cor. 2:4-5)

  • That mankind was created in the image of God, sinned, and thereby incurred physical and spiritual death, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature. (Gen. 1:26, Rom. 5:12, 1 Thess. 1:8-10)

  • That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. (Rom. 3:22-26, 2 Cor. 5:21)

  • In the personal, visible, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. (1 Thess. 4:13-18, Titus 2:13)

  • That all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit and become children of God and heirs of eternal life. (John 3:3, John 3:16, Rom. 8:16-17)

  • In the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost in hell, and the fellowship of the saved in heaven. (John 5:28-29, Rev. 20:11-15)

  • In the existence of a personal devil, who is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men. (1 Peter 5:8, Rev. 20:10, 14-15)

  • In the Church, whose mission is to preach the Scriptures to all the world, guided by multiple leadership and supported by the wise stewardship of God's people. (Matt. 16:16-18, Matt. 28:19-20, 1 Peter 5:1-2, 2 Cor. 11:8-9)

  • That the ordinances of the Church, given by the Lord, are Baptism and the Lord's Table (Communion). (Matt. 28:19-20, 1 Cor. 11:22-26)

  • We also affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
