Scripture

Freedom church holds to the Inspiration, Authority, Inerrancy and Sufficiency of the 66 books. Plain and simple Scripture is the beginning and end of all knowledge, wisdom, direction, morality and truth; about God, our relationship with God, church and everything we encounter. The purpose of Scripture is to lead us to Jesus and His gospel.

Gospel

The gospel is the good news about Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. The gospel is all about Jesus living a righteous life for us, dying a wrath bearing death as our substitute and being raised again for our justification. We receive this gospel from God by faith alone by grace alone apart from works. Repentance and faith in the gospel is a way of life for us at Freedom. We believe the gospel reconciles us to God, keeps us with God and ultimately delivers us into eternity to be with God forever. Freedom is a gospel centered church that believes that the gospel is to be understood and applied to every area of life.

Worship

The purpose of all creation is worship. Freedom church believes worship should be done corporately (as the gathered church) as well as in our homes, in d-groups and individually. Worship is a way of life for Freedom Church and the end for which we and everything else exists. Worship is both the fruit and purpose of the gospel.

Discipleship

Freedom church is all about making new disciples and equipping existing ones. A disciple is a person who has repented of their sin and believed the gospel of Jesus. As a result of the power of the gospel a disciple is transformed and begins to obey Jesus and be conformed into His image in every area of life. All of our meetings and everything we do is designed to make disciples, and we know we have made a disciple when they can reduplicate themselves.

Family

Above all else the church is a family made up of brothers and sisters who all have the same Father because of the gospel. Freedom realizes that there is no clearer evidence that we are Jesus’ disciples than our love for one another. As a result we strive to cultivate a sense of family, maintaining unity and caring for one another as we practice the one another’s. Freedom aspires to be an assimilating church that welcomes everyone into the Freedom family receiving people like Jesus did.

Mission

We are on mission at Freedom church, the same mission Jesus was on. Freedom Church is committed to both being on mission and staying on mission. The mission of Jesus was to seek and save the lost by His life, death and resurrection. He has now commanded us to take this message, the gospel, and spread it in our city, nation and world. The tangible expression of this mission is making disciples so that it our aim. We are committed to being on mission with Jesus by drawing people to Jesus, developing them in community and deploying them back to culture.

Dependence

We can do nothing without Jesus. He saves us, sanctifies us and ultimately will bring us to heaven. Salvation is all His work from beginning to the end. Not only is salvation all of God but so is the church. Jesus said He would build His church. Therefore, we are totally dependent upon God to accomplish His will in us and at Freedom. We want the trinity to both plant and sustain Freedom church and bless our vision to plant multiple churches in the city of Baltimore that are committed to making disciples. Therefore we actively seek ways to humble ourselves before the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and live dependently in and on God. Only God can do what we want to see happen in the city.
